a little bit about me
I have been in the music profession all my life, with over forty years teaching experience. I have recently retired from school teaching in order to retrain as a piano tuner. I firmly believe that music is an essential part of life and a tool for actively improving mental health and brain development. I am a father of four and I live in Telford with my wife and youngest son. I love gardening and chess as well as playing brass and piano.
Piano Tuning and French Polishing
I am a piano tuner and carry out servicing, repair and restoration work. I have been training at the Piano Tuning Academy in Newport, South Wales. This is an intensive course being taught on a one-to-one basis by a professional concert piano tuner with over thirty years of experience. I have also been trained in the art of French Polishing and furniture restoration.
Music Lessons
With over 40 years teaching experience I am happy to help you learn, whether you’re a total beginner or looking to up your skills. I have spent 20 years as a piano, brass and music theory teacher and 20 years teaching music in secondary schools and SEN units (Special Educational Needs). I provide a friendly and professional service and I also have DBS clearance so that I can work safely with children.

Prices*
Piano Tuning: £70.00
Costs for repairs, servicing and restoration will be negotiated on inspection of the piano.
Music Lessons: £30.00 per hour
Piano, brass and theory of music tuition is available.
*Pricing will be reduced for those with concessions.
